Have Emergency Preparedness Kits and Supplies On Hand!

Emergency preparedness is a topic often overlooked, but always important for family safety and well-being. Keeping appropriate Emergency Preparedness Kits or emergency preparedness supplies on hand will help to ensure that you stay as healthy as possible during a crisis or natural disaster. At a minimum, every household should have a well stocked emergency preparedness kits, a disaster preparedness plan and an emergency supply of food and water. The idea of planning and having these emergency preparedness supplies may seem like a daunting task to some. However, with a little effort and time it is really quite easy.

Items that should be included in an Emergency Preparedness Kits:

1.At least one gallon of water per person for drinking and sanitation.
2.Sufficient stock of non-perishable food for each family member.
3.Hand crank or battery-powered radio and a NOAA weather radio with tone alert and extra batteries for both.
4.Battery operated flashlight with extra batteries.
5.Maps of local areas.
6.Cell phones with charges.
7.Anything loud such as a whistle to signal for help.
8.Various personal sanitation items like hand sanitizer, wet wipes and garbage bags.
9.Various other tools including pliers, wrench etc. to shut off utilities.
10.Can opener for food items.
